Malahide GC Member Máire Falvey set a special record in this the Malahide
GC 125th Anniversary year.
On June 30th at Donabate GC Máire won her third All Ireland Mother and
Daughter Foursomes competition with her Daughter Deirdre Sheehan
(Kanturk GC).
In 1981 Máire won the inaugural “Freddie Moran” cup with her mother Marie.
In 2015, she won her second All Ireland Mother and Daughter Foursomes
with Daughter Ciara Smith (Malahide GC).
Fred Moran captain Malahide GC 2012 and son of Freddie Moran presented
the “Freddie Moran” perpetual cup to Máire and Deirdre at a well-attended
ceremony at Donabate GC.
On Sunday September 3rd Malahide GC host the 25th All Ireland Mother and
Son Foursomes competition Malahide Golf club has hosted the All Ireland
Mother & Son competition since its launch in 1992. It is the only one of its
kind in Ireland and annually attracts 180+ players from many clubs around
Ireland. Padraig Harrington and his mother Breda won the event in 1995
and massively increased the competition profi le.
