COURSE REPORT – JULY 2017
BLUE COURSE UPDATE
We are now open and playing the new holes, these holes will develop over the next few
years with additional tree planting and growing of natural grass areas. We would ask
members to be patient with the new holes and allow them to develop, there has been lots
of discussion since we opened and various opinions but the overall feedback has been
very positive.
A decision was made to implement an internal OOB between the 5th and 6th hole when
playing the 6th hole due to some members deciding to take the 5th hole as the route to
the 6th green. We have now planted new trees to the left of the 6th green and we will also
transplant more trees to this area in November, the OOB will be reviewed before the start
of the 2018 golf season.
Golfers are still having issues with Garmin distance devices along with other devices on
the blue, it is the responsibility of these companies to update their information in the same
way Golf buddy and Sky caddie did. Members using devices that do not work on the blue
should contact the provider directly.
RED COURSE UPDATE
We are currently reviewing some health and safety issues on the red course, 1st red pond,
5th red to the left of the greenside path and both bridges on the 6th and 8th red. The
bridge on the 6th red will be fully repaired in September this year.
We also have an issue to the left of the 9th green with a very bad surface where growth is
being hampered by the trees, this will be reviewed with our course consultant Dr Foxe in
July.
YELLOW COURSE UPDATE
We have cut back the tree overhanging the 3rd tee box and we have already seen an
improvement on the tee box. We have a recomendation from Dr Foxe regarding the 1st
tee box that will be considered at the course meeting in July.
