Message from Captain - PGA in Ireland
In this special year of Malahide celebrating their 125th year we are delighted to continue
with a club that has staged PGA events over many years.
We have a long association with Malahide through the involvement of our Professionals,
like Cecil Connolly, David Barton and John Murray, as well as the link with the Craddock
family.
It has been good to see the club develop, nurture and grow, and to recognise the current
modern course layout of 27 holes.
An important factor in the staging of the Pro-Am in recent years it should be highlighted
and noted, the disciplined work that goes towards supporting St. Francis Hospice –
Raheny, in their care for people.
My fellow Professionals and me look forward to visiting your Club and playing in the
event at the beginning of June, and hopefully the weather will treat us kindly,
Joe Frawley

On Sunday September 3rd Malahide GC will host the 25th All Ireland Mother & Son
Foursomes competition Malahide Golf club has hosted the All Ireland Mother & Son
competition since its launch in 1992. It is the only one of its kind in Ireland and annually
attracts 180+ players from many clubs around Ireland. Padraig Harrington and his mother
Breda won the event in 1995 and massively increased the competition profile.
Gent’s playing the Red Course should approach the sixth tee via pathway along
the river ONLY. This will allow a swifter get away from sixth tee box and eliminate any
risks to players on the bridge.
