Course Report – May 2017
BLUE COURSE UPDATE
We are now approaching the opening of the new holes on the Blue nine, the work on the
bunkers will be completed in May and the greens are ready to go, the newly seeded areas
on the 4th, 5th,6th and 7th are progressing well as are the new tee boxes but have been
hampered by the unusual lack of precipitation and heat! Having said that the target of mid
June is still achievable and members will be updated by email in June.
A decision was made to close the temporary par 3 on the 8th Blue to give the area at that
tee box time to recover for the opening of the Blue.
The new holes have been measured and will be on the GPS systems when the Blue opens.
Distances below in meters.
5th Hole – Par 5 6th Hole Par 4 7th Hole Par 3
Blue – 502 334 160
White – 492 315 144
Red - 401 291 113
The new Pitching green will also open in June again the green is ready but the newly
seeded area surrounding the green needs more time. Members will be informed by email
when this is ready to play.
Over the next week a new warm up net will be installed near the 1st tee on the Yellow the
plan is to also install a warm up net near the 1st Red/Blue and we are looking at options
for this. We will also be installing a new astro surface and mats on the existing practice
ground along with new distance markers at 50 metres, 75 metres and 100 metres, the new
surface will give us a good quality hitting area all year round but members can still hit from
the turf . We would ask members to respect the practice area only hit towards the new
distance markers and rake the bunkers after use. The second practice area to the left of the
2nd on the Yellow will also have new distance markers installed.
