Malahide Golf Club FORE! Spring Edition 2016

It is a great privilege to be Boys’ Captain for 2016. I am honoured to be selected to represent the talented Junior section that we have in Malahide Golf Club and I would like to thank Donal Hughes and the Junior Committee for all of their hard work over the last few years. I have gained great experience and knowledge from playing with various teams and received fantastic advice from countless members in my time in this marvellous club, and this has all contributed to my ever-growing love of the game. I would like to wish President Sean, Captain Michael, Lady Captain Joan and Girls’ Captain Emma the best of luck in their roles this year. Finally, I hope that 2016 will be a successful and enjoyable golfing year for all. Daniel Murphy Junior Boys Captain 2016 I am delighted to be the Girls Junior Captain for 2016. The following is a brief outline of what cadets and juniors can expect for 2016 and what it takes to keep the show on the road. Cadets Cadets are aged from 8 to 10 inclusive, on 1 February of any year. They are supervised at all times, while they are on or around the course. The club, through the club professional, organises dedicated coaching for cadets, during the season. The cadets are introduced to the golf course, under conditions appropriate to their age, with as much adult/parental input, as possible. The joint approach of, fun and gentle initiation into the basics of the game, are prevalent in dealing with cadets. There are currently about 50 cadets registered. Their competitions are as set out in the club diary and are played over no more than nine holes.
